Who is Elon Musk?
If you don't already know who Elon Musk is, he is one of founders of Paypal and has since joined the ranks of other deca-billionaires, such as Eric Schmidt and Rupert Murdoch.
He has done so by fiercely attacking traditionally very prohibitive industries with passion and enthusiasm offered only in silicon valley. Musk quickly liquidated his $200M+ Paypal fortune nearly to the point of bankruptcy while successfully bringing to market viable versions of the Falcon Rockets of SpaceX and the Lithium-Ion Battery packs of Tesla Motors.
Musk is driven by a grander sort of infectious optimism about the potential of humanity to become a multi-planetary species. For more information on Elon, click here.
He is obsessed with making things better and I love it. Using his "First Principles" approach, Elon Musk has single handedly made being a Nerd cool. I want to be a nerd.. and a geek actually. There is something completely inspiring about a guy who has the courage to simultaneous risk his entire fortune, including his sweat and tears to accomplish the impossible... and then he succeeded.
Elon strikes me as the kind of person who just "Gets Things Done" and I like that. I like that fact that he can take charge of an industry, re-think the purpose of the vision, and successfully redesign a solution that is orders of magnitude more efficient, cheaper, and cooler than anyone else out there. The man is simply unstoppable.
Here are the industries I have counted so far that Elon Musk is competing against simultaneously:

The Auto Industry
The Auto Dealership Monopol
Utility Companies
The Military Industrial Complex
